Since moving to Brussels in the year 2000, God has given us some amazing ministry opportunities.
We've served on staff at a large international church, developed a worship training organization, participated in ministry outreaches to refugees, worked with a European-wide arts organization and sung in French-speaking nations in Europe, the Carribean and Africa.
Below, you'll find a brief description of these ministry assignments.
MINISTRY FOCUS: CHRISTIAN CENTER
Since 2001, we have served on staff at Brussels Christian Center, an international church of 500, where Jeff is the worship pastor. We oversee worship teams, a worship choir and are responsible for church communications.
Sunday morning services are in English with translation provided in French, Flemish, Russian, Farsi, Arabic and other languages. Sunday evening services are in French and translated into several European languages.
Christian Center supports the national church by hosting meetings featuring such internationally-recognized speakers as David Wilkerson; sponsoring worship concerts with well-known worship leaders like Bob Fitts and Brian Doerksen; and giving pastoral support to national organizations and committees.
MINISTRY FOCUS: WORSHIP DEVELOPMENT
Since 1998, we have initiated worship training programs in France, Belgium and The Netherlands. After
founding the Brussels-European Worship Institute (www.bewi.eu) we were invited to consult with groups in other European nations to help launch regional and national worship training programs. Currently, we organize Worship Institutes in Brussels and Rotterdam.
We organize worship conferences, school of worship training intensives, worship leadership retreats and practical workshops.
In addition, Jeff has led worship and taught on the subject in Belgium, France, Spain and the former Soviet Republic nations of Kazakstan and Latvia.
MINISTRY FOCUS:
WORSHIP EVANGELISM
We are involved in ongoing local, regional and national evangelistic outreaches and projects.
For example, we recently coordinated the activities of a mission team from Broadmoor Baptist Church in Shreveport, Louisiana which participated in two outreach projects. During the day, we coordinated the teamâs participation in âServe The Cityâ projects including working in a soup kitchen for the poor, helping in a community center, and doing projects at an Arabic church in Brussels. In the evening, the team conducted a âSummer Family Weekâ at Christian Center with a Vacation Bible School for children and 'Financial Peace' classes for youth and adults.
We also participate in national conferences such as one featuring New York City evangelist D
avid Wilkerson where Jeff led worship for both a national meeting and a pastors training day.
And each year, we produce and direct a national Christmas Choir Outreach music program, which we've taken outside the walls of the church through the 'Belgium International Gospel Choir, which we co-founded. We have taken the 80-voice choir on a five-concert Christmas tour, culminating in a concert in Brussels attended by the Prince and Princess of Belgium.
MINISTRY FOCUS: WORSHIP RECORDING & TOURING
In 2004, Jeff joined EXO as a back-up vocalist, participating in recording projects and traveling with the group on tour. EXO, a French language worship ministry, has recorded six live albums in Brussels, Paris, Switzerland, the Carribean and the west African nation of Ivory Coast. EXO songs are sung in French-speaking churches throughout the world. In addition to annual tours in French-speaking Europe (France, Switzerland and Belgium), the group has ministered in Africa, Reunion Island, Madagascar, Tahiti, Nouvelle Caledonia and Canada.
MINISTRY FOCUS: CHRISTIAN ARTS
Since 2,000, Jeff and Kathy have served on staff of Creative Arts Europe, an organization dedicate
d to the training of Christian artists and the development of Christian art initiatives to impact European culture. Jeff serves the organization as Chief Operating Officer, assisting with strategic plan
development, project coordination, and communication activities. We have helped organize and host a European-wide arts conference in Brussels called 'Imagine' and also host occaional outreach 'Arts Cafes'.
